These are not aspirational values printed for show. Every article and every ranking on this site is checked against these four standards before it goes live.
Every figure, rate, and fee is sourced from official bank disclosures or government bodies like the SARB and NCR — never estimated or guessed.
Our rankings are produced by our editorial process alone. Commercial partnerships never influence which product ranks higher.
We disclose exactly how we make money, on every page, in plain language — not buried in a footer nobody reads.
When we get something wrong, we correct it publicly and promptly. We don't quietly edit mistakes out of existence.
The person writing a card review or building a comparison table works from our published scoring methodology — never from which bank pays the highest referral commission. Affiliate relationships are negotiated entirely separately from editorial content, and a product's commission rate has no bearing on its position in any table or article on this site. If a high-paying partner's product scores poorly under our methodology, it is ranked poorly. We have never reversed a ranking due to commercial pressure, and we never will.
Financial products change constantly. Banks adjust fees, remove benefits, and launch new offers without much warning — the Absa Dis-Chem cashback removal in January 2026 is a recent example. When we learn that information on the site is outdated or incorrect, here is what happens:
We check the claim directly against the provider's official source before touching anything on the site.
The affected article or ranking is corrected — not deleted. We believe in fixing mistakes openly, not erasing them.
Material corrections are noted at the top of the article with a date, so returning readers know exactly what was updated and when.
Every product listed on RandWise is re-verified at least once a month, whether or not anyone has flagged an issue.
RandWise does not currently publish sponsored content. If this ever changes, any sponsored placement will be clearly labelled as "Sponsored" at the top of the content, will be held to the same factual accuracy standard as everything else on this site, and will never appear inside our independent comparison tables or rankings.
If you spot an error, an outdated fee, or a ranking that seems off, we want to know. Reader corrections are one of the fastest ways we catch changes before our monthly review cycle does.
